My name is 'Chelle. I hope you will join me in helping support us, hyster sisters. I am 30 now and had a hysterectomy on Dec. 11, 2003 due to Stage 4 endometriosis. Ironically, I am adopted and my birth mother who also had endometriosis gave me up and then found out she could never conceive, and had a hysterectomy herself. There are many challenges post-hysterectomy. A few mine of mine are weight gain, as to where I now need to lose fifty pounds to be normal size again. I also have difficulty frequently with body temperature, many hot flashes. I'd love to discuss some of the post hysterectomy problems and solutions with my, hyster sisters.

Hi,

I have just stumbled upon thsi site......Let's see I had the operation this past Feb. and am still coming to terms with it. I had a large fibroid tumor that weighed in over 5 lbs upon removal. Let's say it's been more of a shock to my system then I imagined.....real depression and weight loss. I am currently on HRT and trying to wean myself off of the AD, Celexa, after trying it for three weeks...hate the side effects. Have you considered HRT for your hot flashes, etc?

OMG! I have been looking everywhere for someone like my partner! She is 32 and scheduled to have a hysterectomy due to a fibroid in November. She is sad and scared and everything else. She has been searching for a support group to help her (and me) through this scary time.
I am so happy to have found this site!

Hi I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy 10/10/05. I have mixed feelings, but I will be happy not to be in pain all the time. I am going to a good hospital, but I've only met my doctor twice. He's a man and seems to be a little to nonchalant about everything. Anyway I would sure like to hear some more stories.confused

Hi all, my name is Linda, I had a TAH on 9/26/05. I'm not feeling all that bad, still have plenty of bloating, had a borderline malignancy of the right ovary too. I'm going cold turkey no hormone replacement therapy. Having some trouble dealing with the night sweats. I wish there was a local hysterectomy group for support. I'm hoping that I don't put on tons of weight too. Looking forward to feeling like myself again. Hugs to all my hyster sisters!!
